I think that I finally have gotten all the bugs worked out with our classroom website. Here are the photos of the awesome community helpers that the kids made during our first Social Studies unit over communities, We have gotten so many compliments from other teachers and students in the school about how creative our community helpers are! The kids did a great job!

We have been so busy these last few weeks! The kids have been working very hard on practicing the components of Daily 5. These include: read to someone, read to self, listen to reading, work on writing, and word work. During our morning guided reading block, I will be meeting with small groups of students and teaching a reading lesson. While I am working with my groups, students will be rotating through the Daily 5 activities.
Every night your student will be bringing home their reading bag with a book in it to read aloud to someone at home. After your child reads, please fill out the reading log and send it back to school with the book and reading bag every day. It is important that kids read every night and return their reading bags the next day. There may be times when the same book is sent home to practice. This is to help build fluency. If you have any questions or concerns please feel free to contact me. We had an amazing Grandparent's Day yesterday. The kids and I would like to thank all of the grandparents that were able to join us. I enjoyed being able to meet and visit with so many grandparents. I would just like to thank you all for letting the kids interview you and playing our special grandparent'd day bingo game.
Thank you to all the parents who have already sent back the form for school lunch for the upcoming field trip. If you have not sent the form back and you would like to purchase a school lunch for your child that day please send the form back by Monday, September 11, 2017.
